The Total Fit Process

The Total Fit process begins with an interview to establishes a Golfer’s desired improvements and swing tendencies. Directed by these established goals, we begin evaluating the Launch Conditions of the Client’s current clubs using our Foresight QC Quad Launch Monitors. Some of the many categories we capture are, Clubhead Speed, Ball Speed, Launch Angle, Backspin, Spin Axis, Max Apex, Landing Angle, Dispersion from center, Club Path, face angle and contact location. Using the metrics for clubhead speed and swing plane as our constants, we can establish the ideal values needed in each launch category to produce the best golf shot for a given player.

With these ideals established, our fitters use our advanced testing data to select clubheads and shafts which offer the best playing characteristics for each Client’s unique swing. These clubs are constructed from our proprietary fitting carts and new launch monitor data is gathered with each combination. We do not allow players to continuously hit one club as they groove a swing over time. Instead, our players hit each club 3-5 times before switching to the next club.

The best performing combinations are then identified, and the process is repeated with these clubs. We always require that player’s replicate the data from the first round to establish that the performance benefits we are seeing are a result of club set up and not just player variance. The best of these combinations is then hit a third time to prove beyond doubt that the player is benefiting from the changes we have made. Only through this disciplined process are we able establish with certainty that we are improving a player’s equipment. Here at Total Fit we are sticklers to our process and believe it is the only way to ensure max performance.
